The Prospect Ridge Academy Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of Bel Scrogham as the next head coach of the high school varsity volleyball program.
A 15-year veteran on the sidelines, Coach Scrogham brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for the game, instilling that same enthusiasm in her players. Scrogham is no stranger to the local volleyball scene as she has most recently served as the Owner/Director of the Colorado Force Volleyball Academy, which was founded in 2024, as well as the head coach of the academy’s 17U National team.
“We are excited to welcome our new head volleyball coach and believe Coach Bel will have a tremendous impact on our student-athletes,” said PRA Athletic Director, Ellie Kempfe. “Her commitment to developing the whole athlete – both on and off the court – aligns with our mission of creating a positive and meaningful high school experience. She brings energy, experience, and a strong commitment to building an environment where athletes can grow, compete, and thrive.”
Scrogham’s coaching style emphasizes building, not only strong players, but well-rounded individuals. While her philosophy centers on creating a positive and competitive environment where athletes are challenged to grow physically and mentally, supported by a culture rooted in accountability, teamwork and respect.
A former student-athlete at Sauk Valley Community College prior to her graduation from Southern Illinois University; Scrogham has an extensive playing career in addition to her time as a coach, playing at the high school, collegiate and adult league levels.
Strogham currently lives in Commerce City with her husband, Jason, who is a professional rugby coach, and their three children — Riley (18), Addi (14), and Kane (11) — all of whom are high level rugby players. Her passion for sport and commitment to developing student athletes extends beyond the court and into her everyday life.
Coach Scrogham will now take over a PRA volleyball program that finished 18-7 overall and advanced to the Class 3A Region 12 finals in 2025.
