Prospect Ridge Academy sophomore guard Sophie Barnett has been named the high school girls’ basketball program’s Athlete of the Month for February, recognized for her relentless work on the defensive end of the floor.
Barnett was nominated by head coach Emily Stucky, who said of Sophie:
“Sophie is our defensive motor. She lead the team in both steals and deflections and is able to guard any position on the floor. She brings her positivity to every practice and game. She is the glue that holds our defense together and she holds herself accountable to that role. She works hard from opening tip to final buzzer, and has stepped up as a leader this season.”
