Prospect Ridge Academy sophomore Owen Monroe has been named the boys’ soccer program’s Athlete of the Month for October.
Monroe was nominated by head coach Michael Ungacta, who praised Owen’s development as a player and as a team leader.
Owen has an outstanding work ethic on the field. Despite being an underclassman, he consistently steps up to challenges and never backs down. His intelligence, determination, and positive attitude allow him to give 100% every time he steps on the field, regardless of the obstacles he faces. He makes an effort to be a vocal and encouraging presence for his teammates, always looking out for those around him. He leads by example through his respect for others, willingness to support his teammates, and ability to stay focused and attentive when needed.
