PRA eighth grader Brady Leonard has been named the middle school baseball team’s Athlete of the Month for April, following a month where he posted a perfect fielding percentage as the Miners’ second basement and for his growth as a hitter.
Leonard recorded nine putouts in April, defensively, and was praised for his work at the plate in the ability to make contact, advance runners and limit strikeouts. He was nominated by head coach Jesse Puga, who said of Brady:
“Brady was a defensive workhorse at 2nd base, arguably playing the position better and smoother than anyone all season. He was at every practice and every game. His leadership, selflessness, and positive attitude were really helpful.”
