Prospect Ridge Academy Athletics is excited to announce the promotion of Mikey Ungacta to the role of Head Coach for the PRA High School boys’ soccer varsity program, following PRA Board of Directors’ approval on Thursday.
Ungacta served as the Miners interim head coach last fall and has deep ties to the program. A Broomfield native, Ungacta played for the local Broomfield Soccer Club and in 52 career games for the Miners during his high school career (2017-2021), earning All-Metro league honors in 2018 and 2021 as a defenseman.
In addition to his prep career, Ungacta was selected to Guam’s U20 National team to play in the 2019 AFC Championship Qualifiers.
“Coach Ungacta is an emerging coach who brings enthusiasm, passion, and a strong commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. He has built positive relationships with players and consistently demonstrates a genuine passion for the game of soccer and the growth of the program,” said PRA Athletic Director, Ellie Kempfe. “We are excited about the energy, leadership, and vision he will bring as we continue to build a positive and competitive culture within boys’ soccer. Most recently, Coach Ungacta served as the interim head coach this past fall and did a fantastic job leading the program during the season.”
Ungacta has been a member of the PRA boys’ soccer team’s coaching staff as an assistant since 2023. He said he is excited and grateful to be able to give back to a boys’ soccer program that gave him some of his best memories as a PRA student.
“I am passionate about continuing the values, culture and team environment that made PRA soccer so meaningful to me as a player,” Ungacta said. “I am honored to give back to the program that helped shape me and I’m excited to help take PRA soccer to the next level.”
